Check saving and resume your work

Confirm that saving has finished

The save status changes as you edit. Before finishing, wait until Saving changes to Saved.

1. Give the document a name you can recognize by purpose or date.
2. After editing, check its save status.
3. To resume later, open it from My documents in the same account.

If syncing or saving is pending

Stored in this browser does not mean the server has received your changes. Check your connection and keep the window open while saving finishes. Use Retry save if it appears.

If the editor says the work is not saved, resolve that before closing or refreshing the window. A browser copy may not be available either.

If another window has changed the document

Editing one document in several windows or devices can create conflicting versions. Read the recovery or conflict message and decide which work to keep. Do not overwrite a version without checking its contents.
